The Catalyst

Homicide, suicide, death and severe injury. It was something that I always felt bad about and hoped I would never have to go through. To tell you the truth, I never really thought much about it nor did I do much to assist and help families going through it. It wasn't until I buried my own child that it really started to change for me.

The death of my daughter was the single hardest thing I ever had to go through. Now that I help people that go through similar tragedies, I realize I was one of the lucky ones. I had my family, friends, church members and God. The healing process for me was shortened because of the support group that I am blessed with. I wasn't left to myself to take care of everything.

Since then, I've heard many stories of families with no real support system or means to find the help they need. They're left to try to clean up blood and debris on their own.

To make matters worse, often a family can't afford to properly clean and restore damaged property to its previous livable state. Red stained sheet rock, holes in the wall, missing carpet or tile are constant reminders to survivors about the loss they've experienced.

I couldn't imagine leaving the surviving family members alone to suffer the additional trauma of cleaning up after their fallen loved one. I had a desire to help alleviate this stress so the healing and recovery could happen sooner.

It has become my life's mission to organize restoration professionals that share my desire to take care of the clean up so survivors aren't left to do it themselves. They don't have to be alone anymore.

Restoration Angel will help restore their lives.
